This portrait of Tom Phillips by Aliona Adrianova features in an exhibition of her photographic work “Artist in the Portrait” at The Mall Galleries, London SW1 until 25th May.

The painting in progress behind him, After Tacitus c.100AD will be on view at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition from 12th June.

Consider Our Haven: Supplement III, 1968

Opening today, Post Pop Beyond the Commonplace: Pop Detours in Portugal and England 1965 - 1975 an exhibition curated by Ana Vasconcelos e Patrícia Rosas featuring a number of works by English artists that conspicuously deviate from Pop Art. Works from the British Council collection by artists such as Bernard Cohen, Tom Phillips, Jeremy Moon and Allen Jones are featured alongside works by Portuguese artists including Teresa Magalhães, Ruy Leitão, Eduardo Batarda, Menez, Nikias Skapinakis, Fátima Vaz, Clara Menéres, João Cutileiro and José de Guimarães. The exhibition continues until 10th September at Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian, Coleção do Fundador – Galeria Principal, Av. de Berna, 45A, Lisbon. Opening hours 1000 - 1800

The new ‘Making her mark: celebrating creative women’ exhibition at Beningbrough Hall, showcases women who have influenced the worlds of literature, dance and drama with a diverse range of striking portraits, including Tom Phillips’s portrait of Iris Murdoch.
