The four canvases have, in one sense, identical content. The one containing the grass and sky itself is parallelled by the canvases which show, in the same position, the catalogue of colours used in each section, those same colours evenly dispersed to make an optical mixture, and the terminal grey resulting from a mixture of those colours.
